Erin Fulkerson says she has learned much from her mom, Donna Ferguson. "She is a very passionate person. She was not your traditional mom when I was growing up. She was artsy and eclectic and interested in ceramics and painting."

* MOM'S MOST IMPORTANT LESSON? "She taught me I can do more than I believe I can. She has a lot of faith in me. She wanted me to pursue my education. Period. I have been in school for a decade and when my motivation is down, she reminds me of the reasons I'm in school."

* WHAT ARE THOSE REASONS: "I have a passion to help others achieve more than they think they are capable of. I saw that my Mom went back to school at age 40 and made changes in her life that she needed to make."

* AFTER FINISHING SCHOOL. WHAT THEN; "Well, there will be student loans to pay off. I hope to be a mother and settled in this area. And I will be a psychologist teaching and working in a private practice."
