My long-running Miscellaneous Files feature has always been a favorite from its online inception a few years ago, and after publishing the first print version here a few weeks ago - the letter M - it was clear that the concept lost little in its translation to the pages of National DRAGSTER.
To backtrack just a bit, the photos in the Misc. Files come from the voluminous National DRAGSTER archives, but they're photos - and by that, I mean actually photographic prints, which are mainly black and white - that have been filed into folders by the last name of the drivers (and sometimes the car if the driver is unknown) if we don't have enough other photos of the car or driver to warrant its own standalone folder. It's always a fun task to browse through the photos because I never know what I'm going to find. I just sit back, prop my feet on my desk, and let my fingers do the walking. Sometimes it's a car with which I'm familiar and have background on, sometimes there's good caption information written on or taped to the back of the prints, and sometimes I have to go digging through old issues for the information. It's part treasure hunt and part journalism, but it's always fun. Here then are the proud representatives of the Misc. Files: the letter N.
