More than 6,000 people joined in a festive celebration of Israel's 62nd anniversary of independence on Sunday, May 23, at Penn's Landing. There was something for every age and taste, with a busy children's tent, 70 vendors offering items from jewelry to Judaica, and information on ways to connect to the Greater Philadelphia Jewish community. The crQwd danced and swayed to the music of the Drexel University Mediterranean Ensemble, which featured members of the musical group Atzilut. These performers set the stage for the internationally acclaimed global music group, the Idan Raichel Project. This free community celebration was hosted by the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, in partnership with several corporate sponsors.
