Fans at the Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, to be held June 18-20 in Bowling Green, Ky., will experience the flamed glory of the Pure Hell fuel altered, which will take part in a match race. Rich Guasco and driver Jason Richey will attend the event to talk with fans and reminisce with racing friends. Guasco built many hot rods and race cars, but none came alive like his Pure Hell entry. The Bantam-bodied roadster broke many quarter-mile records across the country. In 1968, after switching from a small-block Chevy to a Chrysler Hemi engine, Pure Hell bumped the NHRA AA/FA record to 7.68 and 208.80. According to the team, the car's best speed was 214 mph and its best e.t. was 7.27 during match race competition.
