The Costs of College

The College Savings Foundation's second annual survey of college-bound 16- and 17-year-olds found that:

66% have talked to their parents about college's costs

47% expect to get money from relatives for college

69% expect to get scholarships

62% plan to borrow money

51% are focusing on attending public college vs. community colleges, private colleges, etc.

79% say college costs will affect their other education plans

72% would rather get money for college on special occasions than other gifts

52% of those who decided to save for college got jobs to offset costs
