Rob Flynn has taken over as crew chief on Bob Vandergriff Jr.'s C&J Energy Services Top Fuel dragster. Flynn is moving from the other Vandergriff team car, the Yas Marina Circuit/DiGiorno dragster driven by Rod Fuller, after longtime crew chief Jim Dupuy was released following the O'Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals. In his first event, the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals, Flynn tuned Vandergriff to the No. 2 qualifying spot. Keith Stewart will continue as assistant crew chief. As a result of the switch, Vandergriff has named Mike Guger crew chief and Dave Fletcher assistant crew chief of the Yas Marina Circuit/DiGiorno Top Fuel dragster. Guger began tuning the Yas Marina dragster at the event in Chicago when Flynn was unable to attend due to a prior commitment.
