Seattlepi.com reported on April 15 that an attempted robbery at Sharp's Outdoor Power Equipment in Georgetown, Washington, was averted by a vigilant employee. Two men in their mid-to-late forties forced their way into the business and began stealing supplies. Fortunately, an employee inside was armed and prepared, perhaps owing to the fact that the business had previously been robbed six times. He opened fire, hitting one of the intruders who fell to the floor with a serious injury. The armed employee then held the other assailant at gunpoint until the police could arrive. The injured robber was pronounced dead on the scene. Don't shed any tears for the man, though. He apparently had a long criminal history, involving theft, assault, and robbery in multiple states, and had already killed someone in a vehicular homicide.
