Central New York Dunkin' Donuts franchises are asking its customers to donate extra coins to its Spare Change campaign. From now through December, local Dunkin' Donuts will accept the change to assist flood victims in the Southern Tier. Donations will benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which continues to assist those affected by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.

The spring Spare Change campaign resulted in donations of $13,463 to the DARE program and more than $4,000 to benefit an Oswego County nonprofit serving those with developmental disabilities. From July through September, Dunkin' Donuts customers contributed more than $17,500 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Central New York Chapter.
