COHN-DUA

Fayne and Bruce Conn, and Maria and Efraim Dua of Philadelphia announce the engagement of their children, Julie Michelle Conn and Andrew Scott Dua.

Julia graduated magna cum laude from Arcadia University with a bachelor's degree in biology. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in physical therapy at Arcadia.

Andrew graduated magna cum laude from Arcadia University with a bachelor's degree in Spanish. He is also a summa cum laude graduate of Holy Family University with a master's degree in education. Andrew is a Spanish teacher in Philadelphia.

Julie is the granddaughter or Ruth and Jerome Cohn, and the late Bernita and Morris Schechtman. Andrew is the grandson of Renee Jarefsky and the late Benjamin Jarefsky, and Ala Dua and the late David Dua.

Sharing in the couple's happiness are siblings Rachel and Cory Shapiro, Eric Dua, and Jason and Julianna Dua, along with niece Jocelyn Dua.

The couple, who met in their freshman year at Arcadia, lives in Montgomery County. They are planning a fall 2013 wedding.

BESSER-SPITZER

Marcus and Amy Besser of Havertown, and Jeffrey and Miriam Spitzer of Sharon, Mass., announce the engagement of their children, Rachael Besser and Rafi Spitzer.

Rachael, a graduate of Boston University, currently teaches fifth grade at the Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Boston.

Rafi is finishing up his final year as an anthropology of religion major at Boston University.

Sharing in the couple's happiness are Rachael's brothers, Joseph and Aaron; and Rafi's sisters, Gabriella, Leora and Arielle.

Rachael is the granddaughter of Gilbert and Eleanore Besser of Havertown, and Trina Rudolph and the late Wallace Rudolph of Reading. Rafi is the grandson of Sanford and Gloria Spitzer of St. Louis, and Roy and Loretta Tanenbaum of Toronto.

The couple met at Boston University Hillel and began dating a few months later.

They are planning a September wedding in Lower Merion after which they will live in Boston.

ANNIVERSARIES

Marvin and Eileen (nee Mass) Stamm of Melrose Park celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and Eileen's birthday on March 24 at Moonstruck. The festivities were hosted by their children Eve and Ed Rubin, and Gary and Kathy Stamm. The couple has four grandchildren.

MAGID-GOLDSTEIN

Julie and Gerry Magid of Huntingdon Valley, and Susan and Jeff Goldstein of Bensalem announce the engagement of their children, Michelle Magid and Jason Goldstein.

Michelle is a graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from La Salle University. She is a senior accountant with General Electric in Trevose.

Jason graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Science degree in information sciences and technology. He also holds a master's degree in information systems management from Holy Family College. Jason is a business systems analyst with Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia.

Michelle is the granddaughter of Yvette Magaziner and the late Coleman Magaziner, and the late Harriet Magid and Sol Magid. Jason is the grandson of the late Sydney and Jack Levin, and the late Yetta and Edward Goldstein.

Sharing in their happiness are Michelle's sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Yaniv Cohen, along with nephews Stav, Asher and Matan.

The couple, who lives in Newtown, is planning a September wedding.

SHOEMAKER-HERLING

Drs. Parti and Alan Friedman of Philadelphia, Dr. and Mrs. Irving and Jane Herling of Haverford, and Mr. arid Mrs. S. Jay and Janet Shoemaker of Wynnewood announce the marriage of their children, Jessica Rachel Herling and Eric David Shoemaker.

The ceremony and reception took place on Dec. 31 at the Rittenhouse Hotel in Philadelphia.

Rabbi Howard Cove of Congregation KoI Emet in Yardley officiated.

Brian Shoemaker, brother of the groom, served as best man. Erica Friedman, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor.

The wedding party included Michael and Laurie Kott, brother-in-law and sister of the groom; Ariel Shoemaker, sister-in-law of the groom; and Lee and Scott Friedman, brothers of the bride. Brandon and Madison Herling, brothers of the bride, served as ushers.

The ring bearers were Dylan Friedman, nephew of the bride, and Simon and Max Shoemaker, and Seth Kott, nephews of the groom. Naomi Kott, niece of the groom, served as the flower girl.

Other members of the bridal party included Kelly Murphy Milligan, Melissa Davis Klat, Katy Zandy Atlas, Lindsay Rizzo, Matthew Perl, Amir Vardi, Grant Butler and Jason Frasco.

The signing of the ketubah was witnessed by Matthew Perl, Grant Butler, and Kelly Murphy Milligan.

Jessica is the granddaughter of Paul and Reba Friedman of Jenkintown; Barbara Barkon of Huntingdon Valley and the late Isadore Barkon; and Pearl and Howard Levene of Wantagh, N. Y. Eric is the grandson of Gilbert and Ruth Galpern, and Charlotte Shoemaker, all of Philadelphia; and the late Edward Shoemaker.

After a honeymoon in southeast Asia, the couple returned to New York City, where they currently live.
