Double vision

On a recent trip to Palm Springs, I settled in poolside at the Saguaro hotel with the June issue of Sunset and a pina colada. After a few minutes, I turned the page to realize I was looking at the same view both in the magazine (SoCaI Insider edition only, page 36A) and right in front of me. I couldn't resist the photo opportunity. Thanks for a meta SoCal moment!

A banner idea

We moved into our 1959 home in Whittier, California, last year and replaced a broken fence with a new wooden one. When my husband read your article about painting a concrete wall with brightly colored stripes (March, page 50), he knew this was exactly what he wanted to do with our new fence. It took him about three days to complete, and we both love it!

Crazy for campers!

Our best-selling May camping issue fueled a summer full of getaway fantasies. (Trailer fans: Turn to page 37 of this issue for even more inspiration.)

I couldn't believe it when I saw the teardrop trailer on your cover. My very talented father just finished building me a custom teardrop, which will soon see the deserts of Utah, the beaches of California, and the beauty of British Columbia. I've never camped in such style! Now the big question is: What in the world to get Dad? I'll never top this!

I loved your article about camping in style (May, page 66). We are trekking across America. We began in Virginia and are currently in Washington State headed down the coast to California, staying at some of the sites you suggested. We bought our stylish camper a few months ago off eBay and renovated it for this trip. Jonathan just finished his service to the Navy as a SEAL and I'm an attorney, and we left it all behind to find out what the West is all about.
